Also finished the detailed outline of the group paper with Nellie and Jared. Feel good about progress. We have sources, an outline and have started writing. Go team!

WHOOPS!! I did not realize there was a class designated section... although that makes so much more sense. Reposted my summary there. This now makes my
Chapter2Summary page obsolete.

Posted my section of the
Chapter2Summary and created a page for it. I have not seen any of the other sections posted anywhere yet, so I will email my partners and tell them to post their sections there.
March 05, 2009 - SVN Lab
- I worked on part 1 of the lab. It was fairly straightforward. We had a few questions but Anne helped straighten us out.
- We are using Tortoise SVN for the PC, version 1.5.9
- I understand all of this lab by now (which is the goal of course), but at the beginning we had some problems getting tortoise set up and working properly. Also our references had some problems. Have to watch out for those illegal LaTeX characters in our URLs!
- Nellie worked on part 2, while Jared and I kibbitzed. We were missing the PaperTemplate at first, but Anne uploaded it to blackboard and we continued on our merry way.
- Jared and Nellie did part 3 together as I looked over their shoulders and answered questions about LaTeX and Tortoise. It went quite smoothly, although we found we had to recompile the pdf when I checked out a fresh copy on a third computer to see what the final version looked. This shouldn't be a problem because we only use the pdf when we need to turn it in or see what the current copy looks like. We will just all remember to recompile the paper before looking at the pdf.
- This system is extremely useful because it means that we can access our materials quickly from anywhere at any time (even while someone else is working on them). We have to coordinate who is working on what part, but we would have to do that if we didn't have this system too, and it's a small price to pay (especially since we should be doing it anyway. A paper that isn't well coordinated is going to come out poorly.)
- All in all, I had a lot of fun working on this lab with my fellow FmriMates. Happy Spring Break to everyone!

Finished compiling the
FmriGroup proposal! Got LaTeX to work, JabRef and all! So exciting!
February 14, 2009
Officially formed the
FmriGroup, consisting of me, Nellie, and Jared.
Set up a group page for my group, the
FmriGroup page

Played with LaTeX today, wrote a short letter. I could use this to make well-formatted documentation for my CS-210 Practicum write-ups. Also planning on using this to write my group's proposal.
