Using Safari Books online
How to use it
- As a first pass, start by using an 'advanced search', and restricting yourself to materials from O'Reilly and New Riders. Why? Because those publishers only use authors who are also authors of the languages/packages involved. Think of this approach as learning a foreign language from a native speaker.
- If you need additional guidance, fall back to the secondary source materials from the other publishers, but work your way back to the primary sources.
Getting there
CSU East Bay students
- Go to CSUEB library homepage http://library.csueastbay.edu/
- On nav menu on left, click on 'Databases A-Z'
- Scroll down page (don't click on 'S' as it loads another page - bad interaction design, no interaction biscuit for you) to 'Safari Books Online'. Click on Safari Books Online.
- Now you can bookmark the resulting page and it will work directly.
