Part A

Vocab words

  • Objects - Nouns and noun phrases. The goal of the action of a verb. Some natural language examples are simple things like keyboards, cup, pencils and camera. Some Wumpus world examples are squares, pits, and wumpuses.

  • Relations - Verbs and verb phrases that establish connections between objects. Some natural language examples are terms like "has color," "eats" and "comes after." Some Wumpus world examples are "is breezy," "is adjacent to" and "shoots."

  • Functions - relation in which there is only one "value" for a given "input." Some natural language examples are "mother of," "beginning of" and "five more than."

  • Reify (Reification) - to convert something that is an abstraction into something that is concrete.

  • Hierarchy of Evidence - a system of categorizing types of evidence by how comparatively strong that evidence is considered to be.

Examples in the FirstOrderAgentSyntax

  • Do a couple of complex sentences without quantifiers (and explain in English)

  • Do a couple of sentences with universal quantifier and diagram them

  • Do a couple of sentences with existential quantifier and diagram them

  • Do a couple of sentences nesting the quantifiers and diagram them
