FoundationalismBroadly speaking, a researcher or practitioner in the Digital Arts and Sciences who makes foundationalist assumptions, explicit or implicit, views (human) reality as knowable and orderly. See the entry in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy? for an extensive discussion of Foundationalism. I find the discussion of "my belief that I am in pain right now" as a standard candidate for an infallible empirical belief interesting, btw, in light of how common phantom limb syndrome (and associated pain) is in amputees.
