Modeling Content
This topic is part of the ConstructivistGlossary for this wiki. Recall that the description of the term discussed here is contextual.
Using
InteractionDesignFall08 to design a collaborative information resource (e.g,, a wiki) emphasizes the ever evolving situated self-defined purposes of the resource's users and their situated information needs over categories of users and information.
In such a design, a traditional
DataModel? is clearly insufficient to model the content in the resource.
Behavior is, by design, extremely fluid, and should be a
TransparenT? as possible.
ContentModels
are intended to address just such issues. The
Fedora Content Models for Indiana University's Digital Library project are a good example. Our wiki's
Sense-Making Content Model is another.
