Lots of good folks have to work in PhP

ok, so I am actually mostly teasing about that...

How to write solid PhP!

  • test-driven development support... we dug around and found some info on SimpleTest?

* Windows: If you are looking to setup a test site on your machine you can use XAMPP: it simulates an apache environment on a windows platform: giving you apache, mysql, php AND perl/perl mods(I think I said that right....)

* MAC: from what I understand OSX Leopard comes packaged with Apache, MYSQL, PERL and PHP built in, but you can also get MAMP, which is similar to XAMPP, just for MAC

REALLY COOL STUFF!

Now for the fun:

try downloading a version of PHPBB3 and set it up on your local computer! it took me a couple of minutes to get the paths right, but now that it's setup It's pretty cool to test out things I wouldn't dare try on a live server ^_^ phpBB

Also, if you really want to see where your code goes, check out Krumo: Krumohttp://krumo.kaloyan.info/
